Text

On Thursday, March 19 at 4 p.m. our current AIR_frankfurt curator in residence Sun Kim will talk about her curatorial and artistic practice and her project ideas.
The three month residency in Frankfurt is taking place as part of the curator in residence program supported by the city of frankfurt through Kulturamt Frankfurt.

Sun Kim is a curator, performance director, and researcher exploring how memories, sensibilities, and narratives — shadowed by the "logic of light" of Western rationality and male-centred thought — continue to haunt and possess the present. Rather than presenting these shadows as objects of exhibition, she develops a curatorial approach in which performance and sound guide audiences to artworks within a narrative, leading them along a performative path to encounter the ghostly spatio-temporality of shadowed memories, sensibilities and narratives on a bodily level. This practice extends into the collaborative activities of the art collective (O)Kamemochi, which she founded.

In the talk, she will share her curatorial practices and her planned approach for engaging with narratives of migrant care workers in Frankfurt.

There is no entrance fee and everyone is invited to come by and get cinnamon rolls and coffee for free.
